Dabney & Co. is looking for a skilled and personable Kitchen & Guest Service Associate to join our team. This hybrid role involves preparing dishes according to our recipes and menus while also providing exceptional guest service as needed. The Kitchen & Guest Service Associate will ensure a clean, organized kitchen, maintain health and safety standards, and contribute to a memorable experience for every guest.

Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Prepare food promptly to meet quality standards and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Food Quality Supervision: Monitor the quality and safety of all food served to guests, ensuring adherence to food standards.
- Dietary Knowledge: Understand various dietary needs, including those based on religious or cultural practices.
- Kitchen Maintenance: Keep kitchen equipment in good working order and maintain cleanliness in all work areas.
- Customer Service & Complaint Resolution: Address customer inquiries or complaints professionally, ensuring quick and positive resolutions.
- Food Safety & Hygiene: Adhere to high standards of food safety and hygiene during all food preparation, storage, and delivery.
- Table Service: Serve customers attentively and efficiently, responding to special requests or needs.
- Payment Processing: Handle cash, credit, debit, and gift card transactions securely and accurately.
- Guest Assistance: Provide assistance to customers with special needs, ensuring their needs are met with care.
- Opening Responsibilities: Prepare the kitchen and dining areas for daily service, ensuring that all equipment, ingredients, and tools are ready for use.
Required Competencies:
- Food Preparation Techniques: Skilled in preparing and handling ingredients, from washing and cutting to marinating and garnishing.
- Chemical Handling: Experience with the proper use, storage, and disposal of cleaning chemicals.
- Shift Handover: Ability to leave the food prep area in a clean and ready state for the next shift.
- Procurement: Experience in ordering ingredients and supplies, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
Preferred Competencies:
- Critical Thinking: Able to assess situations logically to provide the best solutions.
- Certifications: ServSafe or similar food handling certifications are a plus.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Previous experience in food service, whether as a cook, server, bartender, or host
- Capability to work efficiently while maintaining professionalism
- Strong customer service skills and experience in fast-paced settings
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required
- Ability to open and prepare the kitchen for daily operations
- Reliable transportation to and from Dabney & Co.
