Dabney & Co. is actively seeking a motivated and skilled Bartender to join our vibrant team. This role is essential to creating an unforgettable guest experience, with key responsibilities in drink preparation, customer service, and maintaining a well-organized bar area. The Bartender will also be cross-trained in other restaurant roles to provide well-rounded support wherever needed.

Responsibilities:

• Drink Preparation: Craft both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following Dabney & Co.’s recipes and customer preferences.
• Inventory Management: Keep the bar fully stocked with all necessary glassware, ingredients, and tools.
• Customer Assistance: Offer drink recommendations, answer customer questions, and ensure a memorable guest experience.
• Order Management: Accurately record and process food and beverage orders using the Point of Sale system, coordinating with team members for smooth service.
• Food Safety and Hygiene: Maintain high standards of food safety and cleanliness in all preparation and serving activities.
• Customer Care: Deliver attentive, prompt, and courteous service to all guests, both at the bar and across the restaurant when needed.
• Glassware Management: Ensure all glassware is polished, clean, and properly stored.
• Bar Setup and Cleanup: Prepare the bar area for each shift, following safety, hygiene, and security standards, and leave it ready for the next shift.
• Alcohol Safety: Practice responsible serving, preventing overconsumption, and arranging safe transportation for guests when necessary.
• Cross-Training in Additional Roles: Support other areas of the restaurant, such as hosting or table service, to help maintain a seamless experience for guests.

Required Competencies:

• Mixology Knowledge: Strong understanding of spirits, wines, beers, and cocktail-making techniques.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local laws and regulations for serving alcohol.
• Bar Equipment Proficiency: Skilled in the use of essential bar tools, such as shakers, blenders, and glassware.
• TIPS Certification: Certification in responsible alcohol service, such as TIPS, is highly preferred.

• Critical Thinking: Ability to assess situations quickly and provide effective solutions.
• Customer Relationship Skills: Skilled at building rapport with guests, ensuring positive interactions.
• Adaptability: Flexibility to support additional roles within the restaurant as needed.
• Conflict Resolution: Ability to professionally manage guest concerns or complaints.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Prior experience in bartending and cocktail creation
• Strong communication skills and willingness to take feedback
• Proven track record of excellent customer service in a fast-paced setting
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Reliable transportation to and from Dabney & Co.
