His performances are immersive, vibrant, and rooted in the rich traditions of Sub-Saharan Africa, refined through decades of touring across Europe, Asia, North America, and beyond.
Meet the Artist
Samuel Nalangira is a master folk/world musician, dancer, and choreographer who began performing in his youth and teaching by age 15. He plays an extraordinary range of traditional Ugandan instruments, including the Adungu, Akogo, Endingidi, Ngoni, and a variety of native percussion. His voice carries the soul of the savannah—expressive, powerful, and fluid—and his one-of-a-kind technique on these instruments transforms ancient traditions into a sound that is both timeless and deeply personal.
