Celebrate the soul of blues with Blues Fest 2025 at Dabney & Co., a three-night musical immersion in Kalamazoo’s most intimate cocktail lounge and dining room. From Delta-rooted gospel grooves to funk-fueled midnight sets, this year’s festival brings five standout acts to the stage—each delivering deep rhythms, rich vocals, and timeless storytelling.

Thursday, July 17
7:30 PM – 9:30 PM | The Chris Canas Band
Detroit’s “Prince of Blues” kicks off the festival with raw energy, funk-infused arrangements, and over 150 original songs that blend soul and precision.
Friday, July 18
7:00 PM – 9:00 PM | Asamu Johnson & The Associates of the Blues
With roots in the Mississippi Delta, Asamu Johnson brings gospel-inspired vocals and a commanding stage presence that sets the room on fire.
10:00 PM – 12:00 AM | Serita’s Black Rose
Led by powerhouse vocalist Serita Crowley, this ensemble delivers a late-night explosion of funk, rock, and R&B that’s impossible not to dance to.
Saturday, July 19
7:00 PM – 9:00 PM | The Clif Metcalf Organ Group
Smooth Hammond B3 organ meets jazz-kissed blues in this soul-rich, elegant performance that adds depth and warmth to your Saturday night.
10:00 PM – 12:00 AM | Michael J. Howe & The Backseat Drivers
Closing the fest with a foot-stomping set, this group channels West Coast swing and jump blues with tight guitar lines and vintage swagger.
